The Concordia University women’s soccer team gave fans plenty to cheer about on Homecoming Saturday, rolling past Waldorf University 10-0 at Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs spread the scoring across nine different players, with senior Kierstynn Garner leading the way with three goals and three assists. Sophomore Kyana Rios added two goals and an assist, while senior Shelby Rugg, freshman Guadalupe Sanchez, junior Sadie Mares, senior Niah Kirchner, and freshman Abby Haynes each scored once. Freshman McKennah West contributed two assists in the victory.

Coach Nick Smith commented on the team’s momentum heading into the game.

“A lot of our momentum was carried from Wednesday’s game against Hastings, and this team has started to put the pieces together.”
Looking ahead, Coach Smith emphasized focus and consistency.

“We’re gonna enjoy this win tonight, but we’re focusing on Midland overall while making sure we don’t overlook any of our opponents going forward.”

With the win, Concordia improved to 9-1-4 overall and 4-1-2 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Bulldogs will be on the road next week at Midland on Oct. 15.
