Home Sports Concordia Women’s Tennis Keeps on Winning

The Concordia women’s tennis team concluded its regular season victorious over Hastings College on Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs end the regular season with a record of 7-14 and 5-3 in GPAC.

The Bulldogs defeated the Broncos 5-4. Concordia earned three of its five team points by sweeping the doubles play portion of the match. Freshman Hailey Lemos and sophomore Annie Horn filled the No. 1 spot and won 8-4. Freshmen Kayla Smock and Katelinn Wurm were the No. 2 team and won 8-5. Sophomores Hannah Boe and Katie Hertz rounded out the doubles teams and won their match 8-2.

Hastings College got the better of Concordia in singles play, but the Bulldogs managed to win two of the six matches to claim the 5-4 win. Horn and Smock were the Bulldogs who won their matches. Horn won 6-1 and 6-0 while Smock won by default.

Concordia will now wait for the seeding of the GPAC tournament, which will be held in Fremont on May 6 and 7.
