Home Sports No. 13 Tabor College Sweeps Concordia Baseball

by Garrett Suchanek

No. 13 Tabor College was too much for the Concordia baseball team on Tuesday as the Blue Jays won both games by scores of 15-3 and 4-2.

The Bulldogs now sit at 12-12 on the year.

In game one the Blue Jays rocked the Bulldog’s starting pitcher sophomore Neil Ryan. Tabor scored nine runs, eight of which were earned, on 10 hits through the first three innings. The Blue Jays added six more runs in the next three innings before winning by the 10-run rule.

The Bulldogs scratched their three runs across with one run in the second, fourth and sixth innings. Sophomore Kaleb Geiger, junior Tyler Nelson and freshman Christian Meza had two hits apiece and combined for two of the three runs.

In game two the Bulldogs kept the game closer, but ultimately lost 4-2. Concordia could only manage four hits in the game with junior Josh Mondt and freshman Johnny May scoring the only runs of the game for the Bulldogs.

Concordia will play its first home games of the season at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. The Bulldogs will host Grace University for a pair of games.
