Home Sports No. 17 Bulldogs Defeated by Broncos

The No. 17 Concordia volleyball team was shut down against No. 21 Hastings as the Bulldogs lost in straight sets 20-25, 26-28 and 18-25.

The Bulldogs fell to 18-5 and 6-2 in GPAC.

The Broncos used effective offense to take set one. Hastings outhit the Bulldogs .259 to .033 in the opening set.

Concordia responded in the second set after Hastings raced out to a 12-7 lead.

The Bulldogs had a 20-18 advantage before the Broncos tied the match at 25. Hastings then went on to win three of the next four points to steal the second set.

In the third set, Concordia held an 8-6 lead before the Broncos found another gear. Hastings went on a 15-6 run to open up the set and ended the match shortly after.

Senior Claire White led the Bulldogs with 10 kills.

Junior Alayna Kavanaugh passed out 29 assists for the match.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back as they host Nebraska Wesleyan for homecoming at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
