Home Sports Men’s Basketball Falls Short in Loss at Northwestern

by Jordan McCoy

The Concordia men’s basketball team took the trip to Orange City, Iowa on Wednesday night and lost against the Northwestern Red Raiders, 87-89.

Sophomore guard Chris Johnstone, senior center Chandler Folkerts and senior guard Eli Zieger all scored at least 20 points each for the Bulldogs. Johnstone led with 22 points, Ziegler with 21 and Folkerts with 20.

However, Northwestern scored 24 of their points off of Bulldog turnovers.

Concordia entered the second half with energy and closed in on a significant lead.  Ziegler’s three pointer made in the last second of the game was not enough to stop the Red Raiders from topping the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs are now 3-2 overall. Concordia will move on to face No. 17 York College on Saturday in Walz Arena. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
