The Concordia men’s basketball team started off the 2015-16 season with a 89-49 win at home over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday.

Concordia had no problem taking care of the Wildcats with a combination of great defense and hot shooting.

The Bulldogs dominated the glass as Concordia outrebounded the Wildcats 50-33 for the game.

Defensively, Concordia collected five steals and eight blocks and forced 19 turnovers. The Bulldogs held the Wildcats to 25.4 percent shooting for the day while Concordia shot a blistering 55 percent from the field.

Concordia’s offense was led by junior Chandler Folkerts, who posted a game high 19 points. Senior Robby Thomas and junior Eli Ziegler also finished with double-digit points with 14 and 10 points respectively.

The Bulldogs have a week to prepare for their next games. They will play twice in the Cattle Classic hosted at Walz Arena on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7.
