Home Sports Concordia Softball Goes 2-1 to Finish Arizona Trip

by Garrett Suchanek

The Concordia softball team concluded its Arizona road trip by going 2-1 on the day to improve to 12-3 on the year.

The Bulldogs lost to Olivet Nazarene, but defeated Cardinal Stritch and William Penn. Concordia opened the day with a 9-1 victory over Cardinal Stritch. Sophomore Autumn Owens opened the game up in the third inning with a two-run homer.

The second game of the day was against William Penn, which the Bulldogs won 7-4. Concordia needed timely hits in the third and fourth innings to push the lead far enough that the Statesmen could not complete the comeback.

In the final game of the day, the Bulldogs suffered its first loss of the trip. Concordia dropped a 3-2 decision to Olivet Nazarene.

Concordia will travel back home for a couple of days of practice before heading back on the road to face Bethany College for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. on March 16.
