In a hard-fought defensive showdown, the Concordia University men’s soccer team outlasted Hastings 1-0 in overtime during the Great Plains Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.

Concordia outshot Hastings 13-9 while maintaining steady offensive pressure throughout the match. Both sides battled for possession in a tight contest that remained scoreless through regulation.

The breakthrough came in the 94th minute, when Hugo Garrote buried a game-winning free kick to send the Bulldogs to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Semifinals.

Reflecting on the win, Garrote is ready to win the tournament.

“We deserve this, and we’re going to continue to fight for that championship,” Garrote said.

Concordia will host Briar Cliff University on Friday, Nov. 7, in the GPAC Semifinals.
