Home Sports Men’s Soccer Defeats Bethel College 4-0

The Concordia men’s soccer team started their season by shutting out Bethel College 4-0 on Aug. 26.

The Bulldogs started out strong, with a goal being recorded by sophomore Julian Amaya in the first three minutes of the half. With the help of Amaya, Toby Down scored a goal in the half, and junior Marcelino Verona scored 36 minutes into the first half.

Sophomore Micah Lehenbauer racked up the last point of the game with a goal fourteen seconds into the second half. Goalkeeper Mark Horsburg helped out the defensive effort by playing the entire game and recording four saves, including a PK.

The men’s team will seek action next against Benedictine College Saturday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
