Concordia holds off No. 3 Northwestern 78-73

The Concordia basketball team picked up a hard-fought 78–73 road victory over No. 3 Northwestern on Nov. 22.
Concordia jumped out to a strong start, outscoring Northwestern 48–36 in the first half behind efficient shooting and solid team defense. However, Northwestern came storming back by cutting the lead down to five. Concordia stayed composed, hitting key shots and free throws to hold off the comeback.
The Bulldogs shot 47.2 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three, out-rebounded Northwestern 35–33 and recorded 11 assists and eight steals. Dane Jacobsen and Brooks Kissinger led the way with 21 points each, while Logan Wilson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Tate Odvody contributed eight points on perfect free throws (8-for-8).
With the win, Concordia improves to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will be back on the road to face Mount Marty University on November 22.
